The Courtland Homes Difference
1. Location, Location, Location:
Our effort begins with the site selection process. After all, beneath the construction is the land. We are an infill builder. Consequently, we are always searching for close–in locations which are convenient to schools, shopping, employment centers, an existing adequate road network, and mass transit opportunities. We collaborate with the best architects, land planners, and engineers to work with the existing land form, honoring and protecting its natural characteristics including the topography, stream valleys, and significant woodlands or even individual specimen trees. Many of our communities are assemblages of multiple parcels needed to create pleasing environments in which to live. These are several of the many reasons that our communities and our homes truly have enduring value.
2. Neighborhood Appearance Begins with the Land Planning Process:
We are invested in the appearance of our communities. We value tree preservation. Significant effort is devoted to creating land plans which honor the natural topography, commit to tree preservation, and create or capitalize upon interesting site lines or view sheds. Each of our neighborhoods is distinguished by design elements integral to individual land and product plans created for that particular community. Design elements may include preserving existing features such as rolling topography, streams or ponds, woodlands or even dwellings or open spaces of historical significance. The design elements also include features such as site walls and entry monumentation, street and accent lighting, signage, brick walkways, trails, transitional pavements, gardens, gazebos, street trees, seating areas and other ingredients which in a properly coordinated manner become the foundation upon which a neighborhood is built.
3. As a Small Builder, Courtland Homes Is a Flexible, Efficient, and Attentive Company with an Ability to Customize:
Unlike production builders, we plan our own communities. We work directly with renowned professional architects and interior designers to conceptualize, design, and provide interior and exterior details for each of our new homes. We typically build 20–50 houses per year. The principals of Courtland Homes have more than 100 years of combined experience in the homebuilding industry. We create neighborhoods and build new homes with individual attention to detail and enduring value.
4. Our Customer Service Team Listens and Is Responsive:
As a small builder, we know that every customer is important and a potential source for referrals. Accordingly, we exert every effort to make your home-buying experience a pleasant one. We do not build a home in 90–120 days, nor is this a goal. We expect to build and deliver to our customers a home of superior quality. We do this by maintaining a trained, experienced, and committed staff. Our major subcontractors have worked with us for nearly 15 years. The Project Manager, who oversees the day to day construction of your new home, together with our General Manager, who handles your expectations from contract ratification through the Warranty Period, directly participate in and ensure a comfortable home-buying experience.
Courtland Homes will listen and respond to your customer service needs. Standard customer service lists are addressed at 6 months and 12 months after settlement. Emergency items are typically addressed by the appropriate subcontractor within 24 hours, but no later than 48 hours of notification.
We want you to be a satisfied homeowner, a source of referrals to us and hopefully a repeat purchaser from Courtland Homes as your housing needs change over time.
